  1. Welcome to Wayzata's Best of PC Shareware!     (c) 1993

  3. This disk contains 900+ PC games, utilities, programs, 
  4. etc (Over 15,000 files).  Open the category directories
  5. to view/use/browse the files. 
  6.  
  7. Register and receive information about special offers and 
  8. upgrades!  Use the enclosed registration card or the file 
  9. "Register.txt".
  10.  
  11. **IMPORTANT NOTICE about shareware: Most of the programs provided
  12. are shareware and require that you send a payment to the program 
  13. author if you decide to keep and use a program past the shareware 
  14. trial period.  The necessary information about the author can be found 
  15. in the provided database, text files in the directories, and within the 
  16. program.

  18. Finding out about the programs (beyond browsing the folders).
  19. We have provided an indexed TextWare database that allows you
  20. to read about the games, find out about their authors, shareware fee,
  21. rating, location on the CD-ROM, and search for any text.  This database
  22. also allows you to access the programs without using DOS.

  25. Getting Started (using the TextWare Index):
  26.  
  27.     1.  At the DOS prompt, change your drive letter to the CD-ROM drive.
  28.     2.  At the DOS prompt, type   BEST
  29.     Textware will boot up automaticly and display the database.
  30.     3.  For help with running Textware, refer to Textware directions 
  31.     inlcluded with the disc packaging, or thee on line manual for 
  32.     help running textware.

  34. The programs on the disc have been categorized within the database.  These 
  35. categories are:
  36.  
  37. 1.      Run Me          
  38.             -This option will execute the program from the 
  39.              CD-ROM without installing it on your hard drive.
  40.  
  41. 2.      Install Me
  42.             -This option calls the program to execute its 
  43.              install procedure.  This will install
  44.              the program on your hard disk.
  45.  
  46. 3.      Take Me There
  47.             -This option temporarly exits Textware to the DOS
  48.              directory where the program is located.
  49.  
  50. 4.      Take Me to the ZIP Area
  51.             -This option temporarly exits Textware to the DOS
  52.              directory where the PKZIP versoin of the program 
  53.              is located.

  55. To execute these options, simply move the cursor (with the mouse or arrow 
  56. keys)  to the highlighted area.  Then click with the mouse or press enter.
  57. The program may also require a write to disk when it executes, which is 
  58. not possible since CD-ROMs are read only.  Each program will execute 
  59. properly if the program and all of its related files are copied to a 
  60. writeable source (hard or floppy drive).

  62. If you experience any problems with the programs, you may wish to install a 
  63. fresh copy on your hard drive from the ZIP files.  The interface may not 
  64. always execute your commands to play or install the files.  This commonly 
  65. occurs due to a lack of free memory.  A working knowledge MS-DOS will also 
  66. assist you in the use this disc.  The interface is not a necessity to use
  67. the disc.
